Hello Sunday

So, after a weekend of not keeping track of everything I ate, it is time to get back on track again. Not that this weekend was disastrous, but I definitely wasn’t on my best behavior when it came to food! I did lose 2 pounds this past week…not sure if Nathan updated our current losses to date yet…probably not because he was here with me visiting this weekend! Sometimes, you have to just let yourself go and work hard to get back on track. After all, this is a life change isn’t it? And the reality of life is that you go through ups and downs…whats the point if you can’t let yourself go and enjoy everything around you once in a while. I guess you could say Nathan and I thought of this past weekend as our vacation from the world…we really enjoyed each other and everything around us. If someone is reading this, you probably don’t know what I’m talking about, but Nathan and I are currently in a long distance relationship…we see each other about once a month and talk every day on the phone. It’s no easy task, but its working for us and WW is just another way to keep us connected. I lost the weight loss challenge last week : ( But I had a huge week before and it was inevitable that I would slow a bit. And we all know that men lose weight more easily than women!! This just plain sucks!! I have a feeling that these losses I’m experiencing are just the beginning, but really as long as I’m losing weight, I’m winning in the end! This challenge is so fun and I hope more couples try it out together. It’s so much easier when you have each other for support and motivation. If one of you is having a bad day, the other if there to keep your eye on the goal…which in the end is a healthier, happier , longer life together.

I hope everyone’s journey is going well…its a long, windy road, but eventually we’ll get to our destination!

Hello Everyone,

I thought I would leave one today.  Today was a pretty good day overall as I was able to keep within my points.  The last two days have been tough since I have been cooking in the hotel kitchen.  We have had a lot of banquets and that means that I’m in the kitchen cooking away.  I get picking at food and that as you know can be really bad for weight watchers.   I did do really well today as I was able to mostly refrain from doing that.

I have tried a bunch of new Weight Watchers items and have enjoyed them.  I will write that up tomorrow for all of you to read, most likely.

Have a great night!

P.S.  Congrats to Marissa for beating me this week, her butt is mine next week…..!!!!!!!!!!

Good day…

So,  I weighed in today…6.2 lbs down this week! I did better than I thought…So now Nathan and I are 1 for 1! Not that it really matters who wins because as long as we are being healthy we are both winning. Happy to be in this thing with my hunny…he is the first person I wanted to tell about it today!

So, the journey continues…

Hello Everyone,
I hope all is well with you.  I have started back to the gym.  I have to use a CPAP machine for my sleep apnea.  I constanly forget to put it on.  I would say that I have consistently been using it each night for about a week now.  The goal is to one day not need that.

Got up again 2 days in a row now before six.  It allowed me to make breakfast and then head to the gym for a workout.  The workouts are not like they use to be, but right now 40-45 minutes is about what I can handle.  Like Bob says from the Biggest Loser, at least your moving!

Today at work I didn’t feel so hot as the weather has been changing here.  I went home and took an hour nap along with some medication and have felt wonderful since.

I got up this morning to do my weigh in, and as Marissa was so nice in pointing out, I lost 4.8 lbs this week which is huge, and a great overall victory.  It feels great, and to be honest the clothes still fit a bit tight, but not like they did.  Before I use to wear a caution sign that said “Caution buttons could pop any minute”~ only kidding but it was getting bad.  Now I can button my pants without them prying open, which is a great feeling.  I have a lot more weight to go, but it is nice to have someone who is there every step of the way cheering you or talking smack!  I prefer both!

I wish Marissa the best tomorrow at Weigh In.  I hope she gets a big loss as she has been really sticking to the program.  I want her to lose some weight but then again I don’t want her to beat me.  To break it down if she loses 3.9 lbs or less she will not win this weeks challenge.  If she loses 4.0 lbs she will tie, and there will be no prize exchange.  If she loses 4.1 lbs or more she will win this weeks challenge.  I have to say I have been saying my share of smack talk, but all in fun and love.

I have decided that to reward myself for my weight loss that when I get to 269.9 lbs I will buy a new IPOD.  I currently have a MP3 Player.  This means I will have lost 69.1 lbs since my original joining date of 9/2008, and 60.7 lbs since I went back on the program in 7/2009 and it will be a loss of 51.3 lbs since today.  This will not be easy, but I think it is a good way to set goals like this.  The weekly goals do more for me.  It is still a great incentive.

I hope everyone is doing well.  Take care,

Nathan

Happy Hump Day…

Lol this is funny…I just typed a post and it all got erased…oh boy! I was saying that this week the pressure is on! My biggest competition and my biggest supporter has had a great week!! Nathan lost 4.8 lbs this week and I couldn’t be happier and more nervous at the same time. In case we haven’t shared, there are prizes involved every week for the person who loses the biggest percentage of weight. So, needless to say, I’m nervous! I am so proud of you babe and keep up the good work! I have to say, it’s a huge motivator to have someone by my side cheering me on and making me want to do better than the week before. I am part of a great team…So, weigh in day for me is tomorrow so we shall see what happens!

As for the rest of today, I have 11 points left to eat for today which I guess isn’t so bad. The bad part is that I don’t have a plan for dinner. As they say at the meetings, “If you fail to plan, plan to fail.” I’m starting to think they are right. Who’d have thunk it? Anyway, going to mow the lawn before it rains…again! Work some AP points into my day!! Note to self: Really need to start exercising!! Hope everyone is having a great week! Just think, hump is almost over, so we’re more than halfway to Friday!

Tip of the day: Don’t buy “Jif reduced fat peanut butter to go” expecting to eat the whole thing and lose weight. Apparently when I bought this item I did not read the label…I thought I had a great idea for a snack at work. I brought some celery sticks and this PB to go..the serving was 1 cup and the container did not have a nutrition label…the nutrition label was on the main packaging instead. ALWAYS read labels because when I got home I was surprised…No, I was SHOCKED to find out that the 1 cup of peanut butter was 9 points!! I’ll say that again, 9 points!!! It had 380 calories and 35 GRAMS of FAT!!! OMG!!! Not good…I didn’t have any more points for dinner! Luckily I had some extra points left in the week so I dipped into them. I ended up having 6 oz salmon and a peas, onions, mushrooms, rice mixture I had made the night before…but goodness gracious, that was some costly peanut butter to say the least!! So, word to the wise, ALWAYS READ LABELS!! Hopefully this didn’t spoil my week…I think its been going really well and I’m on track to kick some Nathan butt!!! lol! Til next time…

Today was a rough day for me.  I got up early to go and workout, because I decided to go to Weight Watchers meetings for the first time.

I worked out with my trainer.  I did some cardio and some weight lifting fr upper body.  I only got a 45 minute workout in since I needed to get home for a shower prior to the meeting.

I got home and showered and headed to my first weight watchers meeting only to arrive and find out that I had gotten ready for a meeting that was canceled.

Decided to go to the grocery store to go shopping and I bought a few things.  Went home to cook.  Made 6 meals tonight.  5-Pork Chop and 1-Chicken Thighs.  Also made a meatloaf  that was made using Ground Turkey.  For the six meals it came to a cost of $5.08 o $0.85 per meal.  The meatloaf yielded 6 pieces at about 2 1/2 oz per slice and cost $0.67 per slice.  Made a fresh fruit salad for about $4.00 and thee is tons of it.  I used freshly locally grown watermelon, cantelope, peaches, and grapes (grapes purchased at the store).

Was on plan today so no problems there.  Actually have 6 points left plus any of my Activity Points I want to use, which I probably will opt not to use them.

Weigh In with my online program is Wednesday and will go to next Sundays Weight Watchers Meeting.

Have a GREAT week!

TGIF…

August 7, 2009 by nknightes

Well, it’s Friday and all I can say is bring on the weekend! Today started a fresh new week of WW and boy did I need a new start. As you can see to the right, I gained weight this week! I knew it was coming but I guess I was hoping for a pleasant surprise like a .2 lb gain, but it was 2.6 lb gain. I just started keeping track of everything again as far as points, writing everything down and planning. I need to get my head in the exercise game now! I guess I’ll share with y’all what I ate today so that maybe you can have some ideas…

Breakfast

1 fat free strawberry yogurt (1 pt) with 1 cup strawberries (1 pt) and 1 cup blueberries (1 pt)

Lunch

Smart Ones Pepperoni pizza (8 pts); single serving frozen corn (2 pts); 1 fat free choc/van pudding (1 pt); 1 diet pepsi

Snack

WW Mozzarella string cheese (1 pt)

Dinner

6 oz pork chop seasoned with onion salt, garlic salt, pepper, olive oil on the grill (5 pts)

1 large sweet potato baked (3 pts); 1 cup Tomato, mozzarella, basil, balsamic, olive oil salad (6 pts);  2 pieces garlic bread (6 points) 1 diet pepsi

So, I’m right at my point limit of 35 for the day…not too bad. The garlic bread threw me over, but I figured I worked hard today so I deserved a treat. I may even have a Skinny cow ice cream later for a snack! Well, I better get going so I can enjoy the evening. Like I said, new week, new start so if you goofed up this past week too, get back on track and keep going!

Well night is upon us, and I’m done with my points for the day.  Today was an okay of a day with the points.  This morning I woke up at 630am with what I thought was a bit more energy then I normally have.  I got up and started my breakfast which was 2 Wheat Eggos with 1 cup of Raspberries and 1/4 cup of SF Syrup.  I sat down and ate my breakfast, but by 7 am I realized I was still a bit tired.  I went and layed in the love seat for another hour till 8am which at that point I got up and ready for work.  At work I did have a egg white breakfast sandwhich.

For lunch another associate and I went to Olive Garden, where I had some soup and salad.  I did, dig into 4 breadsticks, and boy were they delicious.  I was so excited to eat those things, but the point value added up quickly.

I ate one of my premade meals for dinner that was 7 points.  Not to mention 3 hours later I ended up eating a sandwhich.  For the day I went over 3 points.  That means I will only have 32 weekly points left, which I’m okay with.  I must get back to the gym this weekend.  I have two more work days and then I get one more day off.  Then it is 6 more days before I get another day off.

Well I wish everyone a great night!

Tip for the day:  Take your lunch to work every day and save yourself at least $20.00 per week, or $80.00 per month.  Choice is yours or how about $960.00 per year.  Now if you are a couple you could save $1,920.00 a year.  That is awesome, that is like a small vacation somewhere, just by you take your lunch to work every day.
